Dave McGowan was born and bred in South East London and moved home 27 times in 51 years. He's worked nights in a petrol station, been a brickie’s labourer, the world’s worst painter and decorator, an artist’s assistant, a DJ, a cook, a photographer, a baker and once wrote a joke for the telly. He has a grown up daughter. He likes to explore dark alleys, old buildings and foreign cities.
He sings and writes lyrics for The Messengers of God. You can hear them here: Soundcloud.
He's been writing for a few years and has a series of short short stories on the Birkbeck Writers’ Hub, and recently had a short story published in the Mechanics' Institute Review Volume 11.
He is the host of In Yer Ear, a literary evening held on the last Tuesday of the month at the King and Queen in Fitzrovia.
